Providing Counselling Skills for the NHS

It’s interesting the varied organisations who ask for my training. On Friday I provided Counselling Skills at Work for East Midlands Ambulance Service  Nottingham. Even when counselling is not the main role of the course delegate, having an awareness of counselling skills in the workplace can make a real difference in difficult situations.

Often the training is provided for managers who can be faced with an employee experiencing problems, for which the appropriate support is required. In the case of the ambulance service they particularly valued the insights into handling bereavement and the tools to communicate sensitively and effectively with relatives and people making complaints. I was glad to be of help.
